California - At Nat's...

(post in English, so that our US friend can read) On the Wednesday night we had no plans, and finding an hotel after the workshop ended would have been complicated.

Someone saved the day. One of the workshop's participants from PRBO (Point Reyes Bird Station), Nat Seavy (see photo, with us, on his "backyard"), which we found out the next day to be called "Nat the Stat"! - from some co-workers we met at PRBO while visiting the place - invited us to stay over in his house, which was under an hour's drive from the workshop. We were told that we should not leave before the sunrise because of the view... we only understood the full extent of said comment once we got to the house and saw the immense view over the Pacific, with S. Francisco in the back (see photo). Amazing! And here is the public THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your hospitality Nat! As we said, rest assured, you'll have free accommodation when you visit PT for surfing! We are deeply grateful for you taking a family you did not really know into your house (you really only knew the father was a lousy instructor! LOL!).

Nat's neighbor had an amazing collection of buoys found on the beaches around the area (see photo). His house was in Bolinas, a place famous because every time there is a road sign giving directions to it, the locals take it down. To keep it a secret. And it seems it takes a while till you can call yourself a local!

The very next day we went to visit PRBO (they do capture and banding of birds with the visitors - Filipe liked to see the birds! Thanks to the guys who gave us the guided tour! No names, but one US, one Israel and 1 from Equador - Rossio - right?), and then we followed on to... Yosemite.
