Loads of news...

Following the lines of previous posts, every now and then there's an English one with news regarding Filipe.

Monday Filipe took two shots, which made him grumpy for around 24 hours, and even the following day one could see that this was not "the beautiful baby" we are used to. Nonetheless, on Tuesday, after a doctor's appointment where it was finally ruled out the possibility of reaching 300 kilos by 18 years old, due to a poor performace, growth-wise, in his 4th month of living, Filipe started on solid food (although I must say that to call that solid food is a bit of a stretch; it's a yummy powder that you add water to... I'm sure there's a name for it in English, but I'm too lazy to surf the web and find what it is...). He seems to like it, and the picture above, which in itself might not be a monument to photography, captures the first ever spoon full of food to go into Filipe's mouth. A "sad" day to Luisa, as from now on Filipe is no longer 100% made of stuff she provided! Yesterday, his great-grandmother came to watch him eat, and he could not get enough of it! Had we prepared twice as much, I think he would have had it.

Another important news is that today, instead of his favorite singer, George Michael (I know, this was an "embarrassing" secret so far, but we, as a family, decided to get out of the closet with this one...favorite song, believe it or not, is currently "Father figure".... which in the early days could get him to sleep in under 3 minutes... now he's more used to it, the magig is not as strong...), he slept to the sound of the great U2! Funny enough, he found most relaxing the lyrics of "The hands that built America", although he also seems to enjoy "Stuck in a moment you can't get out of" - come to think about it...that probably reflects many of the feelings of a baby!

Today he will try for the first time some soup. We predict that it won't go as smoothly as before, as it is somewhat less sweet... More news on this as they come out!

The caption for the remaining 2 pics could be "Naughty...? me?" and "The best friend of the baby is the bear".

E ainda um bjinho especial para todos os que seguem atentamente as nossas novidades no blog
